Gareth Taylor’s side were aiming to extend our winning streak to seven straight matches in all competitions in the Barclays Women’s Super League encounter.
And we did just that thanks to a professional display in the capital where an Amy Turner own goal and Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw’s 14th strike of the season secured three points.
The visitors were rewarded for our fast start at Brisbane Road when Lauren Hemp’s inviting cross was inadvertently turned into the net by Spurs’ centre-back.
That represented the first half’s only goal, but City extended our advantage shortly after the interval when Shaw unleashed a thunderous effort to beat Barbora Votikova at the keeper’s near post.
It means we move back to within three points of the WSL summit, as our fine run of form gathers momentum.
