City Studios joined Steph Houghton, Sandy MacIver and Karen Bardsley as they trained the Club's Under-14s as part of their coaching badges.

Taking sessions across a six-week period, the trio pass on their knowledge to the next generation of talent while also learning a bit themselves along the way.

Working with the Professional Footballers Association (PFA), Houghton and MacIver, both part of our current squad, and Bardsley – a former player and now Girls’ Academy Manager - braved the elements at the City Football Academy to gain their licences.

International Women’s Day is an annual celebration which aims to empower people across the world while celebrating female excellence, with each coach inspiring the next generation of talent with their unique professional insight.

After a meticulous planning process, it was time to put their training drills into practice, with the trio offering advice, encouragement and guidance to individuals and the group when called upon.

City are synonymous with our free-flowing passing style, and this is something that is implemented across our age groups.

That was clear to see at the CFA, with players encouraged to play without fear, and enjoy every moment of possession-based exercises, putting together patterns of play not too dissimilar to those that are witnessed at the Joie and Etihad Stadiums on a regular basis.

Unsurprisingly, there are plenty of laughs along the way as well, not just from the players but the coaches as well!
