Sydney Lohmann believes Manchester City have what it takes to win major honours in the years to come.

The decorated midfielder has become our third summer signing, subject to international clearance, after Jade Rose and Iman Beney, joining from Bayern Munich.

She arrives following an illustrious spell in her homeland of Germany, winning an impressive four Bundesliga titles, a DFB-Pokal which completed the double last term, and the DFB-Supercup in 2024.

Following immense success in Bavaria, Lohmann’s switch to the Blues and the Barclays Women’s Super League represents her first foray into a new league and country.

For the 25-year-old, she says she’s aiming to develop on and off the field in Manchester and stated her delight in seeing the Club’s lofty aspirations.

“I definitely want to win a title because I can see that’s possible,” she declared.

“I think things have probably been quite tough in the last few months or year and everyone is really hungry to do better.

“I can tell that by chatting to people and I want to be part of that. I want to contribute with the strengths I have.

“Just to develop myself and my own football skills. Be open to a new culture and people, it’s really new for me, stepping out of my comfort zone.

“Usually I was welcoming others, now I’m in the other position.”
