The facility, a state-of-the-art, purpose-built space for our Women’s First Team, officially opened on Wednesday morning at the City Football Academy.
One of the first opportunities to experience the new facility came last Wednesday, when players and staff gathered to celebrate the Blues being crowned WSL champions for the first time since 2016.
Sjogran is confident that this success is just the start, with the new facility a crucial element in that vision and a tantalising prospect for potential new recruits.
Speaking in the players’ lounge area of the facility, where City’s players and staff celebrated our WSL title success just seven days ago, Sjogran said: “It’s such an important piece. How do we bring new players in? What can we show when they are here and how can we sell the club in a better way?
“If I was a player today, and not being too old, being invited to this environment is a no-brainer. For us to have this and to be able to sell that and what we’re building is a key part.
“That’s why having this is such an important piece moving forward.
“I received so many messages from people outside of the organisation who want to come and see and learn, to see how we’ve built this building.
“It’s recognition also from outside the club. Other clubs want to see what we’re doing and want to replicate what we have. It’s good in so many ways.”
