The 21 year-old forward has been voted the PFA Young Player of the Year for three out of the last four seasons.
An integral member of Taylor’s side, Hemp is considered to be one of English football’s brightest talents and his Friday press conference, the City boss was asked if she can kick on again and find another level.
“I think she is moving in the right direction,” said Taylor.
“In my time as coach here, it was a huge blow - like with Chloe Kelly - not having Lauren available.
“We lost her in pre-season, didn’t get her back until January and she still won Young Player of the Season.
“Lauren will always score goals. We are working to make her more effective at the top end of the pitch.
“She is a great player to have. If she continues with form she is showing for the rest of the season I would be very surprised if she is not in contention for those accolades again at the end of the season.”
