The goalkeeper first switched numbers in 2019 while at Charlton Athletic.

Startup has been a mental health advocate throughout her career, and explains why she believes having simple conversations can normalise ‘big feelings’.

WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY | ANDY’S MAN CLUB

The theme of this year’s World Mental Health Day is prioritising mental health in the workplace and, in a high pressure environment such as football, the goalkeeper emphasises the important role her team-mates have off the pitch.

She also discusses ‘burn out’, and the steps she takes to prevent it, having considered calling time on her career for a small period of time a few years ago.
