The hosts took the lead, against the run of play, when Natasha Dowie intercepted Laura Coombs’ attempted back pass to Ellie Roebuck and slotted past our goalkeeper from close range.
We weren’t deterred by going behind, though, and equalised through Lauren Hemp’s powerful header following good work from Chloe Kelly.
Similar to the first half, we started the second period strongly but found ourselves behind once again when Missy Bo Kearns’ decisive strike restored the Reds’ lead.
We pushed for a second late on, with Hemp striking the bar with a stinging volley, but it was to no avail.
