It comes after the Japan international received the most votes from supporters - fighting off fierce competition from Kerstin Casparij and Mary Fowler in the three-player shortlist.
In what was the midfielder’s third term at the Joie Stadium, she once again established herself as an integral cog in Manchester City’s machine, playing 38 games in all competitions and starting all 22 Barclays Women’s Super League assignments.
By winning the prize, it also represents the first time she has won the Club’s Player of the Season award having been named in the top-flight’s Team of the Year in each of her previous two full seasons with the Blues.
After Hasegawa’s triumph in the voting was confirmed, she sat down with us to discuss a variety of topics and described her emotions before answering a series of questions submitted by supporters.
