Yui Hasegawa gives the lowdown on some of her City team-mates, and their qualities both on and off the pitch.

The Japanese international recently signed a two-year contract extension, committing her future to the Club until the summer of 2027.

Having initially moved to the Joie Stadium from fellow Barclays Women’s Super League side West Ham United in 2022, the 26-year-old has become an integral part of Gareth Taylor’s midfield.

An excellent maiden campaign at City ended with her inclusion in the PFA Team of the Season, as well as a place on the 2023 Ballon d’Or shortlist.

And her influence has continued this season, with Hasegawa an ever-present in our push for the WSL title so far in 2023/24.

Away from the pitch, the Japanese international is an incredibly popular member of the City squad, as demonstrated in ‘Rise: The Story of Our Season’.
