City U18s travel to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday looking for their second win in two games.

The young Blues returned to winning ways last week by beating Arsenal 2-0 in London to end a run of three successive draws.

Goals from Olivier Ntcham and Matthias Bossaerts were enough to secure a league double over the Gunners, beaten 4-1 on home turf in February.

City and Blackburn have already faced off at Platt Lane in 2013, with the Blues running out 2-1 victors thanks to goals from Wato and Joe Nuttall.

With two games in two days this week for Attilio Lombardo’s EDS men, some U18s regulars have already seen minutes at that age group to try and ease the workload.

Tosin Adarabioyo and Angus Gunn played the full 90 minutes against Bolton in the Manchester Senior Cup on Thursday, while James Horsfield came on as a sub after an hour to grab City’s goal.

That may mean Adam Sadler is forced into a fielding a side sprinkled with younger players when City visit Brockhall Village.

Rovers came from 2-0 down to earn a point against table-topping Aston Villa last time out, but lost their previous two fixtures to Middlesbrough and Arsenal.

City currently occupy third place in National Group 2 and are only two points off leaders Villa, so a place in this season’s knock out stages remains very much a possibility.

Kick off is at 11am. We’ll provide goal updates on twitter as well as a full match report ion mcfc.co.uk shortly after full time.
