Harry Bunn, Jordi Hiwula and George Swan arrived in Ghana on Thursday night for a week-long stay.

The trio are all out of action for the season with long-term injuries, so the decision was taken for the players to continue their rehabilitation in Africa.

The six-strong City party which also included the Head of Sports Medicine for the Academy, Grant Downie OBE, City’s Scouting & Recruitment Operations Manager, Fergal Harkin and CityTV cameraman Lee Jones arrived in Accra at 8.30pm last night.

It was still 29 degrees outside as the group made their way along dusty, windy roads to the training camp for the week and after just five hours sleep, they attended morning devotion at 5.30am, where players come together for daily worship.

On top of providing rehabilitation to the City players, it’s also hoped that this experience of another culture and complex will further endorse the Academy’s policy of producing great people, as well as great footballers.

We’ll bring you a full week of updates from Ghana over the next seven days on mcfc.co.uk.
