City u18s travel to Blackburn on Saturday looking for their fifth consecutive victory.

Jason Wilcox’s men are unbeaten since 28 September, and have conceded just once in the last four league matches, while scoring 15.

Last time out, Denzeil Boadu and 4-1 victory over Bolton under grey skies at Platt Lane.

City now sit in third in the U18 Premier League North Division, while Blackburn’s 3-0 win away to Stoke last weekend saw them leapfrog Newcastle into 8th place.

The two sides met home and away last season and the spoils were shared, Joe Nuttall proving the hero at Platt Lane while City will be aiming to avenge the 2-0 defeat at Brockhall last April.

Recent sizzling performances have seen a number of the u18 squad rewarded with appearances in the EDS. Left back Angelino was on the scoresheet and overcame Stoke after extra time in the Premier League Cup on Thursday.

Billy O’Brien took his place on the EDS bench following his return to the club after helping Wales u19s qualify for the European Championships, but Jack Byrne remains sidelined with an injury.

Kick off is at 11am at Brockhall Village (BB6 8BA). We’ll bring you updates on twitter as well as a full match report on mcfc.co.uk.
