“Lukas gave me the ball, I controlled it and then took aim and watched it go into the top corner.
Aaron continued: “It was a nice angle for the goal. It was great to see it go in!
“Hopefully we’ll now be able to push on and get the result we want in the second leg.”
A near capacity crowd was in attendance at the Academy Stadium and Nemane spoke of his delight when asked about the City fans support.
He said: “It was great to see so many fans in for the game.
“They gave us a lot of support throughout and hopefully we’ll be able to repay their faith by winning the second leg.
“All the players were buzzing off the energy from the fans.
“We’re a bit disappointed that we didn’t get the win, but it’s still a good result.”
Chelsea opened the scoring five minutes into the second half and the 18-year old was disappointed to concede in the opening stages of the second 45 minutes.
Aaron commented: “It was disappointing to concede so early after half time because we always want to keep a clean sheet.
“We knew they were going to create chances and they took it when they had one.
“Overall, it was a tight game. It was always going to be a tough game against Chelsea and now we’ll take confidence from the result and take it into the second leg.”
With the final nicely poised ahead of Wednesday’s second leg, Nemane is looking right the wrongs from last year and help City towards their first FA Youth Cup trophy since 2008.
He stated: “We went to Stamford Bridge in the second leg of the final last year and lost so we’ll be looking to put that right this time around.
“It would mean a lot to me if we were able to pick up the FA Youth Cup this season.
“I first signed just after City won the competition in 2008 and hopefully I’ll now be able to win it myself.”
