David Ball and Robbie Mak both scored hat-tricks last night as City made it two wins in just three days over Wrexham in the Pontin's Holidays League.

Hyde United’s Ewen Fields played host to a thrilling game, where City had trailed 3-2 at half time, before prolific striker David Ball grabbed a second half hat-trick as the Blues ran out 6-3 winners.

The pick of the goals though came from his strike partner Robbie Mak, after the Slovakian speedster ran from his own half to net on his way to a trio of goals.

The only slight worries were the sight of goalkeeper Filip Mentel and FA Youth Cup Final star Vladimir Weiss coming off due to injury ahead of Monday night’s vital National League Play Off semi final against Sunderland.

Blues fans are reminded that their support is welcome down at the Regional Athletics Arena, SportCity, for the 7pm kick-off. Admission is free as the Academy Under 18s go in search of a national league and cup double.

And the FA Youth Cup winning squad will be parading the trophy on a lap of honour at this weekend’s final home Premier League fixture of the season against Fulham.
