City's Under 18 side saw a win slip away after a see-saw encounter with Bolton on Saturday.
John Guidetti’s penalty had put the young Blues ahead before Wanderers drew level, but Omar Elabdellaoui’s 85th minute strike gave hope that City were back to winning ways after the recent defeat to Everton.
However Bolton snatched a draw with an equaliser two minutes from time, and City now have a two-week break in their league programme with next Saturday’s FA Youth Cup tie away to Preston North End looming large.
The Under 16s also played their opposite numbers from Bolton, coping superbly with the blustery conditions to record a 3-0 win.
