A last-gasp goal condemned City’s Under 18s to defeat away to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday morning.

Rovers struck in the 94th minute to record a 4-3 win, but new Under 18s coach Scott Sellars saw lots to be positive about.

“It’s a disappointing result not a disappointing performance. I thought we were excellent at times, especially in the first half and we deserved our 2-1 lead at the break.

“I’m pleased to have seen the lads in action properly for the first time, and it’s clear that we have some real quality here. We moved the ball about well and there were a lot of other things to be pleased about despite the result.”

City’s goals came from Jeremy Helan, Omar Elabdellaoui and Andrew Tutte.
