City's Academy trip to Berlin stepped up a gear with a game against Hertha and the Boy Blues responded superbly to record a 2-1 victory to remember.
Coach Scott Sellars had warned that the bar would be raised considerably following City’s resounding 8-0 opening match win against Empor on Saturday, and so it proved.
But having fallen a goal behind to Hertha - one of the strongest academy sides in Germany despite the club’s Bundesliga relegation - Sellars’ side hit back strongly.
Emerick Hippias snapped up the equaliser early in the second half from a cross by left winger Alex Henshall, having a fine tour following his arrival from Swindon.
And with just a few minutes to go, Yorkshire-born centre-half George Swann rose to head the winner after the Hertha keeper had palmed a tricky free kick onto the crossbar.
