A dominant first-half performance helped City’s Under 18s secure a 3-2 victory at Bolton Wanderers in the Barclays Premier Academy League.
City goalkeeper Tom Halsall had little to do in the opening forty-five minutes as City controlled the game.
Devante Cole gave the Blues the lead in the 22nd minute and that advantage was doubled by the free-scoring Youth Cup hat-trick hero Jordi Hiwula after the break. He tapped in after Albert Rusnak’s shot was saved.
But complacency allowed Wanderers to level in a ten minute spell before George Evans’ cross was slotted home by George King to guarantee the points.
