Louis Hutton continued his fine pre-season form with two more goals in an excellent win over Rhyl FC's first-team.

The Yorkshireman scored a fine goal against Chester City last Saturday which has since become a viral hit and he weighed in with another two goals in this impressive 3-1 win.

England youth international midfielder Kean Bryan scored City’s third goal on his comeback from injury to cap an impressive run-out for Jason Wilcox’s men.

Many of the players involved with the Blues’ narrow Lancashire Senior Cup defeat to Manchester United were involved in this fixture which is becoming something of a pre-season tradition.

Plenty of supporters took this opportunity to make the trip over to the north east of Wales and gave the boy Blues some great support in their final pre-season engagement.

There was a first start for George Swan this pre-season after his nightmare two-year injury lay-off and Harry Bunn also continued his rehabilitation after his man of the match performance in mid-week.

City got off to a lightning start, finding themselves ahead after ten minutes when Hutton got on the end of a ball from Ashley Smith-Brown and hit a low shot past Alex Ramsey in the Rhyl goal.

The Blues doubled their advantage before the half-hour mark with a goal that was all about Portuguese winger Jorge Intima, who made a great run down the right before playing in for Hutton to grab his second.

Only an unfortunate own goal on the stroke of half-time slowed City’s momentum but the two-goal advantage was restored on 55 minutes when Bryan marked his return from injury with a great goal which showcased the midfielder’s strength in possession.

Wilcox shuffled the pack readily, making a host of substitutions in the second-half but City’s lead never looked in doubt, thanks to a performance which exuded confidence and quality.

Second-half substitute Bersant Celina nearly made it 4-1 with one of the last kicks of the game but the Rhyl keeper made a fine save, meaning City u18s had to be satisfied with the two-goal winning margin.

City under-18s kick off their Barclays u18 Premier League campaign with an away match against West Brom on Saturday.
