Read how Lee Carsley's U18s fared when they travelled to Everton.

What happened...

City ran out comfortable 3-1 winners at Finch Farm thanks to a high-paced, dominant display against the Toffees.

After a goalless first half City striker Joe Hardy set the ball rolling with his first goal of the season shortly before the hour mark.

The Blues continued to create chances aplenty but it took until the 84th minute before they were to double their lead - substitute Ian Carlo Poveda with the finish.

Jadon Sancho added a third shortly afterwards to seal the victory despite a late Everton consolation strike.

What it means...

Lee Carsley gets his first competitive win in charge of the young Blues at just the second time of asking.

Liverpool are the visitors at the CFA next Saturday morning for the third round of U18 Premier League fixtures.

What they said...

Academy director Mark Allen: “It was a very good all-round display which is particularly pleasing at this stage of the season. There were plenty of performances that stood out.”

How they lined up...

Aro Muric continued in goal. Ahead of him, Colin Rosler was right-back with Joel Latibeaudiere and Joe Coveney at centre-back and Tyreke Wilson on the left side of the defence.

Ed Francis played in the defensive midfield role with Phil Foden and Matt Smith just in front of him. Luke Bolton and Jadon Sancho flanked Joe Hardy in the same attack as last week’s draw with West Brom.
