Lukas Nmecha and Rodney Kongolo grabbed a brace each and Tosin Adarabioyo notched the other as City progressed on a chilly night in Yorkshire.
The first 15 minutes of the game were an open affair with both sides looking to get a foothold on the game. The home side coming closest to a goal when Tom Pearce floated a shot just over the crossbar.
However, it wasn’t long until the young Blues took the lead. Aaron Nemane darted down the left and crossed for Nmecha, who applied the finish from close range for his fourth goal in as many games.
Leeds had a chance to equalise immediately as Tyla Bell found himself in space on the edge of the area, only to see his shot bounce clear off the crossbar.
The missed chance proved to be costly as City doubled their advantage in the 37th minute. Will Patching floated a corner towards the six yard area and Adarabioyo rose highest to head home for 2-0.
It was deja vu six minutes later when a Patching corner was headed goalwards by Adarabioyo, but this time goalkeeper Theo Richardson was behind it.
City came firing out of the blocks in the second half and extended their lead ten minutes after the break as centre midfielder Kongolo broke into the area before calmly slotting past Richardson for a three-goal lead.
It was soon 4-0 in the 59th minute when Nmecha adding his second of the night after dispossessing Leeds captain Mike Taylor on the edge of the area and then buried the ball in the back of the net.
That proved to be the 17-year old’s last action of the night as he was withdrawn immediately after the goal, along with Nemane, with Jason Wilcox bringing on Brahim Diaz and Isaac Buckley to replace them.
Kongolo grabbed his second of the game with 21 minutes to play when he volleyed into the bottom corner from a tight angle, but Leeds struck back immediately when Erik Sarmiento diverted Mallik Wilks’ low cross into his own net.
Brahim had a chance to restore City’s five-goal advantage in the 82nd minute but he was denied by the legs of Richardson before the Spanish playmaker fired the rebound into the side netting.
The home side added a second consolation late on when substitute Lewis Knight sent Daniel Grimshaw the wrong way from 12 yards after Clarke Oduor was brought down in the area.
The final whistle followed shortly after to confirm City’s place in the Fifth Round of the FA Youth Cup, where they will travel to either Derby County or Wigan.
