Keke Simmonds followed up his double against Derby County with another fine strike as Manchester City secured a 1-1 draw against Sunderland at the Academy of Light.
Simmonds’s goal had given City the lead on the hour mark, only for Connor Slack’s late penalty to deny us three points.
It was a disappointing end to a game City completely dominated.
The young Blues enjoyed 61 per cent possession and managed 17 shots to Sunderland’s four - but, somehow, the home side escaped with a draw.
Despite not securing the win our performance deserved, it could prove a valuable away point come the end of the season.
How we lined up
Starting XI: Moulden, Ogunby, McDonald, Harwood-Bellis, Corrigan, Hodge, Wright-Phillips, F. Dele-Bashiru, Simmonds, Firoini, Knight
SubsL Sobowale, Trafford, McAtee, Palmer, Ohio
