What happened
The Blues had made the short trip to Merseyside buoyed by the fillip of reaching the FA Youth Cup semi-finals in midweek courtesy of a superb 4-1 sixth round win at Bournemouth.
And City maintained our fine goalscoring form in a dominant first 45 minutes at Finch Farm, scoring three goals and impressing with our all-round approach.
We made the perfect start by securing a 13th minute lead. Fisayo Dele-Bashiru successfully converting from the penalty spot after referee Michael Crusham penalised an Everton foul in the box.
Our lead was only short-lived however with Everton drawing level on 21 minutes when Ellis Simms fired home for the Toffees.
City made the perfect response however, producing a two-goal salvo inside the space of five minutes.
Midfielder Jason McAtee struck first on 23 minutes to restore the lead for the Blues from Alpha Dionkou’s fine assist.
Then Dele-Bashiru got back in on the scoring act finishing off Ben Knight’s through ball to register his second and the Blues’ third goal.
The Blues then saw out the second half to ensure that we secured victory and brought all three points back to the CFA.
How we lined up
Gavin Bazunu was in goal shielded by a back four of Yeboah Amankwah, Alpha Dionkou, Rowan McDonald and Sammy Robinson.
Joe Hodge anchored the midfield alongside Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and James McAtee.
Up-front, Ben Knight and D’Margio Wright-Phillips provided the width on each flank with Henri Ogunby the focal point.
What it means
The Blues remain in seventh place in the table on 18 points from 14 games.

The Blues are next in action of Thursday, March 14th when we travel to Middlesbrough for the U18 Premier League Cup final. Kick-off at the Riverside is 7pm.
