Manchester City will wear an all-maroon away kit on their travels next season, as revealed by Danilo, Ederson, Phil Foden and Leroy Sane in Los Angeles.

With the City of Angels providing a picturesque backdrop, the quartet took a break from their pre-season preparations and headed out into the Californian sunshine to launch the 2017/18 away kit.

Released ahead of the International Champions Cup fixture against Real Madrid, the new kit will be debuted in LA’s famous Coliseum, where Pep Guardiola’s men face the Spanish giants.

Fans will not have to wait too long to buy the kit for themselves. It is available to pre-order online now at mancity.com/shop and is officially on sale online and in store from Thursday 27 July.

This is not the first-time maroon has featured in an away kit and as with many of the recent offerings, it is inspired by the Club’s rich history.

Dark maroon was present on the shirt worn by the 1956 FA Cup winning team, while it is also included on the detailing of this year’s home kit, as a nod to the design worn by the league title winning side of 1967/68.

There’s also room for the colour synonymous with Manchester City, with a sky-blue trim on the shirt and socks.

And for new signing Ederson in between the sticks?

The all-maroon outfield kit will be paired with a green shirt, shorts and socks for the goalkeepers, which is sure to please the football purists.

If the design pays reference to the past, then Nike’s Aeroswift technology most certainly gives the kit a truly modern feel.

As the most advanced apparel innovation to date, the Aeroswift kit has engineered knit zones on the shirt, which enhance fit when playing.

The sides of the kit feature a black stripe with blue underlay that runs the length of the shirt and blue shorts, expanding when in motion to maximise ventilation .

Finally, the City blue-trimmed socks incorporate NikeGrip technology for the ultimate foot-to-boot connection.

The 2017-18 Manchester City away kit will be available to buy online at mancity.com/shop and at the Etihad Stadium City store from Thursday 27 July.
