The sun shone and the nets rippled as Cityzens took to the Academy Stadium turf for the second annual play on the pitch tournament.
One of our many Cityzens-exclusive events, more than 40 fans were welcomed to the City Football Academy to get a taste of what it’s like to play on the second most hallowed turf at the Etihad Campus.
Following in the footsteps of the treble winning Manchester City Women and the Club’s stars of the future, four teams battled it out for supremacy in glorious sunshine.
Two close fought semi-finals preceded an equally tense final, which was heading for a penalty shoot-out until two late goals clinched a 5-3 victory.
