Held at the City Football Academy, 16 branches were invited to the Blues’ training ground for a day competition in aide of City in the Community, with more than £1200 raised on the day.
With Alex Williams MBE and Paul Dickov watching on, it was the Waterloo branch who emerged victorious, with all squad members winning a 2017/18 home kit for their efforts.
They’ve also been rewarded with a moment in the spotlight as next season they’ll be presented with their trophy on the Etihad Stadium pitch at a game next season, much to the delight of Chairman, Chris Middleton.
“All the lads loved the tournament at the weekend”, he said.
“Thank you for allowing us to use the facilities, it was a great day and we can’t wait to defend the trophy next year.”
There were two competitions running on the day and in the plate the Duckinfield branch were crowed the winners, while the Heyside team were the lucky winners of the prize draw and have won a hospitality box for a domestic cup game next season.
“It was was great to see all the Official Supporter Club Branches interacting together in a competitive spirit,” added Kevin Parker, Official Supporters Club General Secretary.
“It was especially good to see two teams traveling up from London and the Belgium branch making the trip to Manchester and to top it all off with Alex Williams and Paul Dickov presenting the trophies. It was a wonderful day.”
