City and sister club Bahia merged English and Brazilian culture together as we saw football and music combine throughout Saturday afternoon.
Starting at The Kids Fanzone, Moonchester and Moonbeam were joined by Bahia club mascots Superman and Wonderwoman at the City Football Academy to hand out Bonfim Wish Ribbons.
The tradition of Bonfim Wish Ribbons is to tie the ribbon around the wrist, making three knots and a wish is made with each knot. And those wishes are said to come true when the ribbon falls off.
Shortly afterwards, a special performance by Carlinhos Brown, one of the most prominent Brazilian music artists, saw confetti and flower petals sprinkled around West Reception during the show as we approached kick-off.
Dance performances and mesmerising drumming from the Capoeira Circles and Olodum continued to bring the party atmosphere at the Etihad while the City team arrived.
In what was a fantastic celebration amongst Bahia fans and City fans and all the excitement was captured by our club photographers.
