Manchester City’s Citizens Brasil Official Supporters Club branch has surpassed 100 members.

Established in 2017, they are the largest of City’s OSC branches in Central / South America, increasing from 30 members in 2021 to 104 at time of writing.

The group regularly meet up for City fixtures, aiming to hold gatherings at specific locations such as British pubs to add to the authentic feel of a matchday.

Cheering on Pep Guardiola‘s men aside, Citizens Brasil also aims to take inspiration from the Club’s official charity, City in the Community, to help Brazilian institutions across the country.

Reflecting on reaching 100 members, Branch Chair Lucas Souto said: “Reaching the milestone of 100 members in our branch is something incredible and unprecedented in Latin America.

“It has always been our goal to reach such a mark, and it’s a relief because in 2020/21, due to Covid-19, we went through a difficult phase in our branch, like everyone else. Therefore, seeing more than 100 members gives us immense joy.

“For every fan who contacts me to join Citizens Brasil, it is an honour and a reflection that our efforts are paying off.

“I believe that Pep Guardiola and the Brazilian players who play or have played for the club like Ederson and Fernandinho have helped us grow a lot.

“We also have an inclusion project that is already active and has a significant increase in our supporters this season.

“Our relationship with Manchester City is incredible. Many people are surprised at how much City does for us, from social media interaction to events with trophies, legends, and even players.

“I love the relationship with the club, I feel part of Manchester City, and it is an immense honour for me, the elected president, to be responsible for these wonderful supporters. Thank you for everything, Manchester City, and to the next 100 members!”
