Started by four dedicated fans at the end of 2021 in the Bangladeshi city with around 20-25 online members, the branch has become the Club’s fourth largest global branch, and our biggest outside of Europe.
All events and live screenings put on by the Chittagong OSC are free of charge for younger members, while charitable donations to various foundations aimed at helping underprivileged members of the population are also made.
Given the five hour difference between England and Bangladesh, the group often find themselves hosting gatherings beyond midnight local time to cheer on Pep Guardiola‘s men.
Nazmus, a committee member of the Chittagong branch, said: “Despite the difficulties, we’ve created a model that has completely transformed what it’s like to be a City fan in our country.
“There was a time when you couldn’t find a place to watch a live game. Most people will never have the opportunity to visit the Etihad, but we all want to experience its electrifying and unimaginable atmosphere.
“We bring some of that flavor to our community gatherings. People come to our events and end up becoming lifelong supporters.
“We aim to build a City Lounge in Bangladesh, a dedicated space for City fans, and a permanent event venue for the Chittagong Official Supporters Club.
“We also hope to send someone to the Etihad at least once a year. We are optimistic about making each of these happen someday and making Chittagong the biggest Official Supporters Club in the world.”
