Manchester City’s charity, City in the Community (CITC), is supporting the futures of young people through its volunteering programme, ‘93:20’.

Inspiring young people aged 16-25, the volunteering programme helps develop skills and experience across a variety of opportunities.

Inspired by the Sergio Aguero’s Premier League winning goal against Queens Park Rangers in 2012, it aims to motivate participants to never give up on their goals.

While on the programme, participants complete 93 hours of volunteering across various CITC programmes, opening up employment pathways within the charity and across a network of partners and organisations.

Reflecting on their time at the programme, 93:20 participant, Joe, said: “I wanted to volunteer with City in the Community because it’s a brilliant organisation that helps give something back to young people and helps to get them active and participating in sport.

“It’s helped me gain a wider understanding of what community coaching is and being able to see all the different programmes it offers, with the thousands of different participants has been great.”

Sitting under CITC’s Healthy Futures pillar, the programme is designed to engage and inspire young people by providing skills required to progress into further education, employment or training.

During the 2024/2025 season, 10 participants on the programme took part in 741 hours of volunteering, helping them to gain the experience they need to take the next steps into their careers.
