Premier League Primary Stars schools from City in the Community and Everton in the Community have faced off in a virtual women’s football quiz, with special guest appearances from Manchester City’s Chloe Kelly and Everton’s Megan Finnigan.

CITC’s partner school South Failsworth Primary went head-to-head with Everton in the Community’s Knowsley Lane Primary School, as both groups of pupils tested their knowledge of women’s football via an online call.

The pupils from each school were quizzed with five questions about the opposition’s women’s team, with South Failsworth tasked with answering questions such as the name of Everton Women’s manager, whilst Knowsley Lane were asked which MCWFC player has won the Champions League with Lyon.

In a entertaining contest, the Everton in the Community school edged South Failsworth by three points to one, before they were joined on the call by Chloe and Megan.

The pair answered various questions from each one of the pupils, with many wanting to find out more about why they chose football as a career and who their inspirations were when they were younger.

Kelly and Finnigan also discussed how they kept busy during the first lockdown and what they are doing to keep each other safe now they have returned to the pitch.

It rounded off a fantastic afternoon aiming to inspire the pupils to keep up their love of football or to kickstart their own journey in the game.

CITC’s Premier League Primary Stars programme is now officially welcoming schools to sign-up for the next academic year.

Schools will gain access to all elements of the programme, including City Lifestyles and One City Mental Wellbeing.
