The Club’s charity City in the Community played host to its 10th successful Blues on the Green golf day earlier this month.

Club supporters, partners, staff and friends of the Foundation came together at Mottram Hall Golf Club on Thursday, September 1 to help raise funds for Jamie Carr’s Nothing Ventured Campaign which sees funds go towards CITC’s City Thrive programme.

Fifteen teams made their way around the stunning course, before enjoying food and drink, along with the opportunity to further support CITC through auctions and ‘Beat the Pro’ challenges.

Congratulations must go to Mike Marshall who walked away with the winner’s trophy and prize!

Michael Geary, Head of City in the Community said: “I’d like to thank everybody who has come down to support the event and put their teams in.

“It is incredible to see everyone come out to support such an extraordinary challenge that is raising money for an important CITC programme.”

Every penny raised from the day will support Jamie Carr’s Nothing Ventured Campaign which is raising funds for CITC’s City Thrive programme and Cancer Fund of Children.

The Manchester City Academy Coach will soon set sail across the Atlantic Ocean as he rows solo 3,000 miles to Antigua from the Canary Islands as part of his Nothing Ventured Campaign.

Jamie Carr said: “It was a brilliant day, thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who attended.

“CITC are doing amazing work in the community, and it is great to be able to be part of that and raise money to support young people and their mental health in Manchester.”

CITC’s City Thrive programme aims to promote positive mental health for young people aged 14-25.

A dedicated team has developed a mental health curriculum, combining specially adapted football sessions with one-to-one mentoring and group workshops on mental health awareness, to improve mental wellbeing.
