The importance of regular hand washing and hygenie has never been more important to everyone in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
And the partnership between CITC and Carex has proved crucial in numerous ways, not least in the delivery of our ‘City Lifestyles’ project to more than 1,000 families each year, providing information and guidance for children and families to help them make healthier lifestyle choices.
At the very start of the COVID-19 pandemic back in March, CITC were able to distribute more than 3,000 bottles of handwash and hand sanitisers to local schools and other charities/ youth groups across Manchester.

During the second phase of CITC’s COVID-19 response project, more than 4,000 printed educational resource packs were delivered to homes across the city, Carex also donated a further 8,000 products providing two per household along with the resource packs.
Over the summer during July and August when CITC were able to resume the provision and delivery of free football sessions in parks across the city, all CITC coaches were equipped with Carex hand sanitisers for both them and the participants to use before, during and after sessions.
Mike Green, Head of CITC, said: “We’re delighted to be continuing our partnership with Carex this year. They are a brand that has so many synergies with CITC and Manchester City including their heritage and origination in Manchester but also their commitment to supporting local young people and their families.
“In the current climate, hand hygiene has never been as important as it is today, so we’re really pleased to have such a market leading brand supporting us and adding value to our community projects.”
This week as part of National Hygiene Week, CITC have released a partnership video that was created with the involvement of players from our men’s and women’s first teams, CITC coaches along with young people from the Moss Side Power House.
