Parents in Sports week is an initiative organised by the NSPCC’s Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU).
The aim of the initiative is to help promote new resources to parents so that they can become part of the bigger safeguarding picture in sports that the NSPCC and CPSU wish to highlight.
This year’s campaign focuses on giving parents and carers the information and tools they need to part of the bigger safeguarding picture in sport.
As part of the campaign CITC would like to celebrate our parents and carers and thank them for their commitment to CITC and their ongoing support
Activities in the week include, a parents’ survey, a parents’ focus group workshop, activities for our City Play participants to do at home with their parents and much more.
The Child Protection in Sport Unit have also created a resource for parents, which has a short animation, as well as a free link to an online training course for parents.
The CPUS parents’ hub can be accessed here: https://thecpsu.org.uk/parents/
Keep an eye on our social media channels across the week for more information!
As part of the week, we are also asking parents of children who participate in CITC activities to complete a short survey about safeguarding practices.
