Though it’s the Easter Bunny usually making the most deliveries around this time of year, City in the Community coaches and staff have been ‘hopping’ up to the challenge, in distributing almost 11,000 holiday activity packs to the school children of Manchester.

Supporting Manchester City Council, MCRActive and Skills For Life, who were responsible for the production of the activity packs, CITC coaches played a vital role in getting the activity packs to children and schools all over Manchester.  

The activity packs are designed to keep school children entertained and engaged over the Easter school holiday break, with fun and educational games and activities.

Utilising the CITC vans to transport the packs, CITC Outreach staff were active in loading the vans from a distribution centre in East Manchester and carefully distributing the packs to schools throughout the city. 

13 schools in East Manchester, 36 in Central and 22 schools based in Wythenshawe received the packs in advance of the school holiday, which will help to keep children entertained for hours over the Easter break

Craig Bell, Football Partnerships Manager at City in the Community, said “We were only too happy to lend our support and help get these packs to school children in Manchester. 

“We know how important it is to keep kids occupied in fun and rewarding activity over the school breaks, particularly with how things have been this year. 

“We’ve seen how enthusiastic the kids can be when our Outreach Officers and coaches go into schools, and very much hope they enjoy the activities and games in the packs too.” 

With 71 schools within the distribution network, and a total of 10,952 packs to deliver, it was a task requiring Duracell bunny levels of endurance from the CITC Outreach Officers - you’ve all certainly earned a chocolate egg or two this weekend!
