The popular holiday sessions have resumed following an enforced break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
CITC staff are ensuring that the youngsters’ safety and well-being are paramount with the sessions being conducted under carefully observed social distancing rules.
One of the key by-products of the free football sessions is that - as has been the case for the past two years - they are once again also helping to combat holiday hunger.

All the children taking part in the sessions are being provided with free healthy snacks, lunches and water to ensure they are well nourished and hydrated.
CITC are grateful for the generous support of Club partners Nestle Professional for their key role and assistance in providing nourishment to help us combat holiday hunger.
The project has also benefitted from funding provided by Manchester City Council.
For his part, Councillor Luthfur Rahman said the scheme was again providing both a vital and valuable outlet for the city’s youngsters and said the Council were delighted to be able to support City in the Community’s crucial work in this area.
“We know that young people have been through a lot in this lockdown period and it’s been extremely difficult for them not to have the usual activities they would get involved in,” Clr Rahman commented.

“So it’s important for us during the summer period to put things on, particularly with the easing of some of the lockdown restrictions.
“The work that City in the Community are doing, socially distanced football coaching, is absolutely essential to support recovery and for young people to get back into an active lifestyle, get back into normality and be involved in something positive.
“We are delighted to be able to support City in the Community to deliver these sessions.”
