City in the Community (CITC) marked Anti-Bullying Week last week, with five days of activities and social action.

The charity’s aim was to promote the message that bullying is not and never will be, the right thing to do, as well as encouraging people to reach out if they experience bullying themselves or need support.

CITC dedicated social content across their channels to the campaign throughout the week, including an Odd Socks Day takeover on Monday, November 14.

Workshops and activities took place across various schools and programmes for all age groups; educating participants and raising awareness about what bullying is, how it can be prevented and what to do if someone is bullied.

CITC reached 1242 participants across 88 sessions.

Safeguarding manager, Deborah Glynn, commented: “CITC have a responsibility to create a safe and positive environment for all and we feel it is important that we promote positive role models and celebrate our uniqueness by promoting equality and preventing bullying.

“It has been amazing so see so many of our team and participants get involved and helping to raise awareness and spread the word for everyone to be kind and for people to reach out if they or others need support.”

During the week staff also created a new safeguarding video helping to promote a message of speaking out if you are being bullied or are seeing bullying occur.
