Young Leaders from Midea and Manchester City’s global community initiative in Sao Paulo, Brazil and Bandung, Indonesia recently took part in a coordinated global training event led by CITC coaches.

Over the week, coaches from the club’s official charity, City in the Community, delivered training to 60 Young Leaders across the two projects, which comprised sharing their expertise and knowledge of community football coaching, leadership, and sustainability.

In both cities, the training sessions culminated in vibrant community festivals where Young Leaders took the lead, organising football sessions for local children and demonstrating their newfound skills and confidence.

In Bandung, Midea Indonesia staff joined the celebrations, supporting the Young Leaders and participating in the festivities.

Meanwhile, in Sao Paulo, local Midea staff encouraged the local community to donate their old home appliances and electronics at their pick-up point situated at the event to raise awareness of responsible electronic goods disposal.

Midea’s offices in Brazil and Indonesia have shown incredible commitment by donating a total of 60 Midea home appliances to support both project centres. These donations, including air conditioning vents and washing machines, aim to create a welcoming environment for the Young Leaders both on and off the pitch.
