Mike joined CITC over 12 years ago as a qualified coach, before spending time working across a wide range of outreach and educational programmes.
Over the past five years, Mike has led the significant development of all CITC Partnerships and Fundraising activities and has played an integral role in the growth of CFG global partners investing in local and global community projects.
Most notably, Mike spearheaded a community partnership with both Etihad and UBTECH and has been instrumental in the recent Christmas Giving campaign.
Mike will take full responsibility for all charitable operations, reporting directly to the CITC Board, with all current members of the CITC Leadership Team reporting directly into him.
Commenting on his appointment, Mike Geary said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be taking on the role as Head of CITC.
“It’s an organisation which has been a huge part of my life for many years, and I am extremely passionate about what we do.
“The charity has an incredible team of staff, who have already achieved so many great things through our work within the community, and I’m really excited to lead us to even bigger and better things in the future.
“I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank the CITC Board, Leadership Team and Mike Green for their ongoing support.”
Pat Loftus, Chair of City in the Community, added: “It’s fantastic that we can recognise and reward Mike’s hard work over the many years that he has been with CITC.
“He is recognised by all CITC and MCFC staff as a key leader within the community sector and someone who brings continuous stability to a thriving charitable organisation.
“I am confident that Mike will continue to build on all our recent successes and grow the charity across the coming years.”
Mike Geary’s appointment follows CITC’s announcement earlier this month that Mike Green will be stepping into a new opportunity as Chief Executive Officer at Lommel SK.
