The golf event has been a mainstay of CITC in recent years, with 2024 marking the first time that it has gone ahead on two occasions in one year – both at Mottram Hall Golf Club in Cheshire.
With more teams signed up than ever before, this most recent edition of Blues on the Green provided friendly competition, entertainment, and a host of awards and prizes for those involved.
After enjoying breakfast and taking part in a putting competition, various teams made their way around the course, before enjoying a range of food and drink in the evening.
The evening provided teams with an opportunity to further support CITC through raffles and auctions. Guests were also presented with awards for challenges they took part in throughout the day such as ‘Beat the Pro’ and ‘Longest Drive’.
City in the Community invited ReminisCITY participant Michael Crowther on stage alongside former Manchester City player Paul Dickov, as they discussed their experience of being trophy bearers on the final day of the 2023/24 Premier League season.
The total amount raised for City in the Community from this edition of Blues on the Green came to £15,000.
Every penny raised from the event goes towards sustaining the charity’s programmes, which place physical and mental wellbeing at their core, whilst also creating healthy futures and healthy communities.

This event was sponsored by Co-op Live, the UK’s largest live entertainment arena, which opened its doors in May 2024 and is located on Manchester’s Etihad Campus, adjacent to the Etihad Stadium and City Football Academy.

Commenting on the success of the event Michael Geary, Head of City in the Community said: “I would like to thank each and every person, team, and staff member who came together to put on such a successful event in aid of CITC.
“Congratulations go to all competition winners and those who walked away with the winner’s trophy and prize.”
