City in the Community have hailed the ‘incredible generosity’ of our supporters in helping raise a stunning £40,000 just over a week after our new Christmas campaign launched.

‘A Time For Giving’, which began on 1 November, sees us team up with you, our fans, as we come together to fund thousands of hours of free football, supporting the health of young people in Manchester.

The concept is simple - for every purchase a fan makes from a range of selected Christmas retail clothing items*, available online and in the City Store, the Club will donate £5 to its charity, City in the Community (registered charity no. 1139229).

Or supporters can make additional donations at the tills in the Etihad Stadium store, when checking out online during their purchase journey for match tickets and via www.mancity.com/CITC.

We will match these donations to increase the overall funds for City in the Community football programmes, up to the value of £75,000.
In just 10 days, since the campaign went live, we have raised £40,000, an amount that Head of City in the Community, Michael Geary, stressed summed up the kindness and compassion of the Club’s fans.

He said: “The generosity fans and supporters have shown the charity in these early stages of the Christmas campaign is incredible.

“Manchester City has always been a Club with community at its heart and the response to ‘A Time for Giving’ is a perfect symbolism of that.

“To everyone who has bought a Christmas clothing item or made a donation in the last 10 days – thank you for your support, you’re making a real difference to the lives of young people in Greater Manchester.

“The campaign is live until the 31 December so there’s still plenty of time to get involved!”
