The pair have been an integral part of the Club’s fan-led network since its foundation in the 2018/19 season, and everyone at Manchester City is grateful for their efforts throughout their time as fan representatives.
Colin Savage, a lifelong supporter, has been responsible for representing the Club’s Season Ticket Members for the past four seasons. During this time, he helped oversee the transition from physical season cards to mobile tickets, ensuring the Club regularly heard from fans throughout the process.
In addition to this, Colin has played his part in ensuring the voice of all supporters are heard by the club so that all matters, big or small, are raised and discussed with senior representatives at the Club.
Meanwhile, Patricia, known by friends and the Club as ‘Trish’, used her role as the group’s Over 65s Representative to ensure the needs of our older supporters are well catered for. This perspective has been especially important as the Club continues to integrate technology across our operations.
Trish also lobbied the Club to add more subtitles to our videos, and following these conversations, the Club is in the process of recruiting a Transcriber to transcribe English dialogue for a variety of videos across our multiple platforms.
However Trish, like Colin, did much more than just represent her allocated demographic, and she was integral to City Matter’s Catering sub-group. One success story from her time in the group was when she lobbied the Club to bring back Bovril to the stadium so supporters can continue to have the popular drink.
To thank them for their efforts, the Club gifted Colin and Trish personalised framed shirts signed by the entire 2022/23 squad. These were then presented to the pair by Mike Summerbee, and Manchester City Operations Managing Director Danny Wilson at a recent home match.
Commenting on the pair, Danny Wilson said: “On behalf of everyone at Manchester City, we would like to thank Colin and Trish for their amazing efforts over the past four seasons.”
“They have both been an essential part of City Matters since its formation, helping to get the network established while regularly speaking with the Club on matters important to our fans. Their insights have been hugely valued, and their presence at our meetings will be missed.”
Simon Walker, Chairman of City Matters, added: “I know I speak for everyone involved with City Matters when I say Colin and Trish will be greatly missed. Their passion for the Club has been clear from the very beginning and having them as part of our team has helped us to make a difference.”
As announced earlier this month, supporters have elected Angela Worrall to take over from Colin as their new Season Ticket Member Representative. Meanwhile, Michael Ash will replace Trish as their Over 65s representative, and supporters can read more about their new representatives here.
