Man City Esports won seven out of eight games to see us claim top spot in Group A and confirm our place in the ePremier League quarter-finals.

In their first outing as a duo, Matias Bonanno and Joao ‘Jafonso’ Vasconcelos took centre stage in Manchester this weekend as we begin our defence of the ePremier League title.

Our Group Stage journey began on Saturday afternoon, with City taking on Fulham on the main stage.

And it was an emphatic clean sheet with Bonanno beating Griffeyfc 4-0 and Jafonso quickly following suit with a 5-0 triumph over LunaticD to see us pick up six points out of six.

Round Two also proved to be a comfortable affair for our boys in blue.

Bonanno saw off West Ham’s Holdinho with a 6-2 win before Jafonso beat Irons’ Itman20 with a 7-2 victory for another six points.

On to Sunday and our afternoon began with another set of back-to-back wins, this time over Chelsea.

Jafonso won his match against NHaych 6-1, as he continues to impress in his debut season in the ePrem, and Mati beat Actual Emperor 4-3.

Just three points were needed in the final match-up against Crystal Palace.

It was a tense match-up, with Jafonso falling to a narrow 4-2 defeat to EthxnH.

Mati had to hold on to his lead to confirm top spot for City. And the experienced, two-time ePrem champion did just that, beating BrigArmy17 3-2 and in turn confirm our place in the quarter-finals of the competition.

It means we will now play in the Finals in Manchester on the final weekend of March. Keep across mancity.com and the Official Man City App for further details in due course.
