In Yokohama and Tokyo, the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic has left many children living in care homes feeling isolated with reduced external support.

The essential workers who look after them have also been affected by feelings of isolation with the increased stresses of ensuring the health and safety of themselves and others.

To support the young people within the home, and the key workers supporting them, this project is delivering educational workshops to both groups to help combat isolation and stress.

Young people within each home have also been learning key computer skills to access education online and improve their chances of finding employability in the future.

The staff members have taken part in regular virtual stress management workshops, learning useful skills to help handle the pressures of their jobs and improve their own health and wellbeing.

The project will continue to support the young people and key workers within homes in Yokohama and Tokyo, ensuring they have the right skills, support and equipment throughout their recovery from the pandemic.
