As part of Cityzens Giving for Recovery, we are matching donations for the funding of nine recovery-linked projects near each of our clubs.
In a special series, we take a closer look at the projects earmarked in each of our nine chosen locations.
We’ve been supporting the emergency COVID-19 response through almost £1,000,000 of donations, in-kind support, and loaning of facilities.
Now we are aiming to deliver a minimum of another £1,000,000 of funding and support by introducing Cityzens Giving for Recovery, a 12-month campaign which will focus our donations, expertise, facilities, resources, and voice, on making a positive difference to the recovery of our communities.
In the small Belgian city of Lommel and in the wider Limburg area, the coronavirus crisis has created considerable challenges for vulnerable families who are already living in poverty.
Even as life returns to normal for many, these families have been disproportionately affected and many are still unable to source fresh, healthy, and affordable food, as well as other essential items including clothes and health products.
This project will support the recovery of families and vulnerable people across the community, providing essential aid and care to those in the most need.

Danny, one of the helpers at Saint Vincentius in Lommel said: “This project will help us provide food, care and essential aid to vulnerable people across the community. Please donate what you can to help Lommel get back on its feet.”
Through regular distribution networks across the region, families will be helped to ensure children receive health and nutritious meals, as well as clothing and health products.
This will be a holistic approach to tackle the nutritional, physical and social needs of young children who have been isolated for many weeks without being able to properly focus on their education.
We are asking our fans to help us reach our targets by donating the specific project that means most to you – and we will match your donation.*
