The programme forms a key part of Cityzens Giving partner, Magic Bus India Foundation’s COVID-19 response efforts across the country.
Magic Bus delivered online training to 75 young leaders who went on to make regular phone calls to 15,600 families over an eight week period.
During the calls, young leaders provided children and parents with the latest information and guidance around COVID-19, and ways to stay positive, safe and active during the crisis, signposting to additional support where needed.

Young leaders also discussed with call recipients topics including the importance of education and addressing emotional needs such as frustration, fear or stress.
TECNO Mobile provided handsets to five young leaders who documented their experiences of staying connected in a crisis and how they continued to support their communities remotely.
Avishek, age 20, Young Leader said: “The Covid-19 phone call project is really very important to me, because it can generate awareness about the coronavirus into my community’s children and also to their parents
“As a young leader I want to make a difference in my community and this project helps me to deliver that.”
