The Cityzens Giving Young Leaders Summit, presented by Etihad Airways, returns this week, bringing together a record number of young leaders across the world.

This year’s Summit, taking place digitally over Webex by Cisco, connects more than 500 Young Leaders from 25 cities to celebrate their contributions to changing lives in communities around the world using the power of football.

Streamed live across the world, the five-day Summit aims to inspire Young Leaders and equip them with the skills and confidence to continue to make a positive impact in their communities.

The event will feature educational discussions led by City in the Community coaches around key topics such as mental health, adaptation, female empowerment, mentorship, and managing challenging behaviours, as well as peer-voted Young Leader awards, quizzes, and interactive tasks.

Young Leaders will also have a chance to share with each other the latest from their projects, reflections and learnings from a very challenging year, and fresh ideas and innovations in community football.

In the last 12 months, more than 1,400 young leaders have been trained in leadership and community football coaching by Manchester City. Using the power of football, they have positively impacted the lives of more than 25,000 children and young people.

Varsha, a Young Leader with OSCAR Foundation in Mumbai said: “It is an absolute privilege for me to participate in this Summit.

“I learnt so much from my online training experiences with Manchester City in 2020 and I hope to continue my learning process and engage with City Football Group experts and other young leaders.

“I am very eager to learn about the different topics that will be covered during week because we all need guidance during these tough times to adapt and excel in a post COVID world.”
