Chris Martin’s band played the first of four nights as part of their Music Of The Spheres World Tour.
Around 60,000 fans were inside the stadium for a spectacular show where they played some of their biggest hits including Higher Power, Yellow and Viva La Vida.
An incredible night at the home of the Premier League champions included sets by Chvrches and Porij.
Coldplay play three more nights on 1, 3 and 4 of June and The Weeknd will also perform at the Etihad on Saturday 10 June.
