After a trophy laden 2023, Manchester City have eight nominees from Pep Guardiola‘s side which include Ederson, John Stones, Ruben Dias, Jack Grealish, Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, Rodrigo and Erling Haaland.
From Gareth Taylor‘s squad, Chloe Kelly, Lauren Hemp and Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw take City’s total to 11 nominees for Team of the Year.

Our Brazilian Goalkeeper is always a mainstay in the EA SPORTS FC™ campaign, and this year is no different. 11 clean sheets in the Premier League last year and already on track to eclipse that record for the 2023/24 season. From shot stopper to play maker, surely he makes the final XI!

A leader from the back and a fierce competitor. Our Portuguese defender was instrumental in our Treble winning campaign and has been a consistent feature in our back line in the 2023/24 season.

The Barnsley Beckenbauer. In City’s most successful ever season, John Stones‘ innovative move from Defense to Midfield was an absolute masterstroke. The transition gave our midfield an anticipation, a composure and gateway from back to allow our wealth of attacking flair to flourish.

RODRIGO
The man who won City the Treble. Rodri’s 2022/23 season was his most successful to date and has developed into one of the best CDM’s in the world. His consistent performances in the heart of the City midfield has been rewarded in game with a +2 boost in Ultimate Team making him one of the highest rated midfielders in the Premier League.

BERNARDO SILVA
The Portuguese magician has once again flourished in 2023 with a host of incredible performances. His glittering displays on the pitch were rewarded with a contract extension up until 2026, keeping him at the Etihad for the foreseeable. Midfield, Defense, Attack - put him wherever and he’ll shine.

LAUREN HEMP
Widely regarded as one of the best players in the country, Lauren Hemp’s rise to stardom has been almost as rapid as her attacking runs. With explosive pace and the world class finishing to match, Lauren has continued to be an invaluable attacking threat against all opponents through 2023. In the 2022/23 season, Hemp continued to be a prolific figure in Gareth Taylor’s team, totalling 28 appearances in all competitions and had an impressive 21 goal involvements. At the end of the campaign, she celebrated five years at the Club, and a well deserved nomination for the EA SPORTS FC™ Team Of The Year.

KEVIN DE BRUYNE
King Kev’s place in the EA SPORTS Team of the Year was never in doubt given his brilliant performances across the 2022/23 treble winning season. Although his 2023/24 season has been cut short by injury he notched an impressive 28 assists across all competitions and 10 goals across the campaign. Crucial goals against Arsenal in the league and Real Madrid in the Champions League were pivotal in our Treble winning season.

CHLOE KELLY
Chole Kelly in 2023 saw her develop from one of the brightest young talents in the WSL, to a seasoned, well-rounded superstar. Chloe’s attacking skills contributed to major wins last season, notably scoring a goal and an assist to secure three points against Arsenal, and whose goal sealed an away win at Leicester City. Kicking off the 2023/24 campaign with an impressive six goal contributions in the opening 10 games, Chloe shows no sign of slowing down, proving to be one of the most dynamic, and creative forwards in the women’s game.

JACK GREALISH
Super Jack is a must for this year’s TOTY campaign. His performances across the 2022/23 season were evident for all to see as with him in the team City won 78% of the games he played in all competitions (39 wins from 50). The 11 games Jack didn’t feature, we won just 46% (5 out of 11). A big personality off the pitch and an even bigger influence on the pitch!

KHADIJA ‘BUNNY’ SHAW
It’s difficult to think of a more exciting, dynamic and natural finisher of the ball than Bunny Shaw. Through 2023 she has extended her goal scoring reputation to new heights. Following a historic campaign in front of goal at the end of the 2022/23 campaign, Bunny had scored 31 goals in 30 games. Notably securing a 2-1 win over Brighton in March saw her become the highest-scoring women’s player across a single season in Manchester City history. Showing no signs of stopping, she sits comfortably at the top of the goalscoring charts so far this season with nine goals in as many games, securing her a place on the nominee’s list for EA SPORTS FC™ Team of the Year.

ERLING HAALAND
Erling Haaland breaks records. In his debut season he scored more than anyone in PL history with 36 goals, the most strikes in all competitions by a player at a PL club with 52 goals and most goals and assists in a 38-game Premier League season. Erling has already kicked off the 2023/24 in style and is currently the PL top goalscorer - can he break his own records?
