The Shape of You singer performed to 60,000 adoring fans as he kicked off his four-night stint at the home of the Premier League champions on Thursday 9 June.
Sheeran, who was supported by Dylan and Maisie Peters, was on stage for two hours in what is the 12th instalment of a 34-leg world tour that will see him perform 74 shows in 31 locations.
The singer-songwriter followed Liam Gallagher as the second act to visit the Etihad this summer, performing a 23-song set list, which included platinum-selling singles Thinking out Loud, Galway Girl, Bad Habits and Castle on the Hill.
